memory check

Memory check (based upon your research and homework)

1. Film Noir can be a difficult/technical subject to photograph.
Explain THREE considerations you must make when deciding on the camera settings

the first difficulty would be the lighting since film noir is heavy on shadow, we would need to be in a very dark or in a low light area since we need at least three lights. The next problem would be setting the ISO so the higher it is there is a grain effect on the image, wide aperture to allow more light into the lens. finally the shutter speed for a high shutter speed.

2. Name the three main light sources used in Film Noir (think back to the video we watched) key light, hair/back light and the fill lights

3. What is the photographic term given to the low-light style of Film Noir lighting?
it is called low key lighting
4. Detail FOUR considerations you must take into account when shooting on location.

  • trespass
  • not to have an accident
  • background people
  • weather

5. List FOUR health and safety considerations when using equipment to produce your
photography.
  • burning from the lights
  • wires (tripping hazards)
  • cutting from sharp objects
  • being rude, etc
